Bill Frezza

 

Bill Frezza is a 35-year veteran of the technology industry. After graduating from MIT with degrees in both electrical engineering and biology, Bill spent his early years at Bell Laboratories. Since then, he has worked as a product manager, salesman, marketer, entrepreneur, consultant, technology evangelist, and venture capitalist. Bill has been investing in early-stage tech startups for the last 17 years.

 

Bill was previously a member of Adams Capital Management from 1997 to 2014 as a General Partner and in the latter years as a Venture Partner. Prior to his work at Adams Capital, Bill was Founder and President of Wireless Computing Associates, providing technology and strategic consulting services to major vendors in the semiconductor and telecommunications industries.

 

Bill served as the Director of Marketing and Business Development for Ericsson, Inc.'s wireless data division, where in 1992 he teamed up with Mike Lazaridis, the founder of Research in Motion, to launch the first commercial wireless email service – a product that ultimately evolved into the BlackBerry. Bill’s extensive engineering and product management experience at General Instrument Corp. and Bell Laboratories earned him seven patents in the field of cable modem broadband distribution systems and consumer computer graphics. Bill chronicled the 1990s Internet boom as a columnist for Network Computing Magazine and InternetWeek and is a former of Director of the Materials Research Society (MRS).

 

Since 2008, Bill has been writing weekly opinion columns for publications such as RealClearMarkets.com, Forbes.com, the Huffington Post, the Daily Caller, and Bio-IT World, appearing regularly on TV and radio outlets including CNBC, Fox Business and WBAL. In 2011, he was a finalist for the Hoiles Prize for excellence in American journalism and in October 2013, he became the Competitive Enterprise Institute’s 2013-2014 Warren T. Brookes Journalism Fellow. In January 2014, Bill began hosting RealClear Radio Hour airing Saturdays on Bloomberg Boston WXKS 1200AM & WJMN 94.5FM-HD2.
